About Hannah
Hannah Russell is a best-selling author, business coach, motivational speaker and entrepreneur based in the Yorkshire Dales. Her work has become inspiring and a role model for many individuals across the globe and has won awards for her books and business skills across the UK, USA and Germany.
Hannah’s first book was published when she was just 17 years old about her miniature Shetland pony Little Alf, he stands at 28 inches high due to him having dwarfism. Little Alf came to live with Hannah at a point in her life when she needed a new focus the most, after discovering she had fractured vertebrae’s in her back and had to give up horse riding, she took a year of college and not long after Little Alf came to live with her. Time was soon spent looking after him every day, she began a blog about him online which grew quite rapidly and he soon had his own fan base, this led Hannah to write a book about him and his adventures based for children, after writing the first book she decided to write another book, then another and by this time they were becoming quite a known duo across the UK. Soon after in 2017, Hannah was taken on by a literacy agency in London and they published the true story on Little Alf and Hannah ‘Little Alf the true story of a pint sized pony who found his forever home’ this was an instant best seller on amazon and went on to be published in different languages. Little Alf now has a series of books published about him and new books being released every year, he also has his own merchandise range and large online fan base, he has become quite the household name. Each year Hannah and Little Alf do a couple of appearances where people come and meet him, usually thousands of people flock to see him.
After becoming an established author, this sparked Hannah’s interest for business and charity work. She started working with schools and universities across the UK to give talks on her journey as an author and was soon being booked every week to visit somewhere new.
In the mean time she was studying interior design at home and had a part time job at an interior shop in Leyburn, a couple of years later the interior shop Hannah was working at as a ‘Saturday’ girl once over became available and she took over the business which is now known as ‘Russell home interiors and gifts’ and has a shop located in the Yorkshire Dales, Leyburn market town, the shop is all about escaping the ordinary and standing out from the crowd.
Hannah now has 6 business in total and spend a lot of her time working in her home office in the Yorkshire Dales, she has 16 rescue pets, including dogs, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, horses and rabbits who regularly features on her blogs and she writes about.
Hannah is also ambassador for two charities ‘Helping Rhinos’ and ‘Brooke Action for working horses, donkeys and mules’ she has also worked with the charities overseas and takes part in fundraising events and campaigns every year.
She has received awards from HRH Princess Anne and The Duchess of Cornwall Camilla for her work towards charities.
In 2020 Hannah was diagnosed with Sarcoma Cancer after discovering a lump in her hip due to extreme pain, after undergoing a course of radiotherapy and treatment, Hannah now wants to go forward and raise funds for Sarcoma UK and has begun fundraising for the charity through a clothing range.
