The Guards Chapel
A visit to London
A visit to London
Yesterday I had the privilege to be aprt of the Brooke Charitys Christmas carol service in London, the event was heald at the Guards Chapel in Wellington Barracks. It was such a lovely way to end mine and Little Alf's role as Every Horse Remebered ambassadors for 2018. The whole event was spectacular and certainly got me in the christmas spirit. I was also very honored to meet Her Royal Highness the duchess of Cornwall and recieve an award from Petra Ingram Chief Executive at Brooke.
Been involved with Brooke this year has been amazing, it's great to visit events and hear all about the fantastic work they do. I'm very excited to continue my work with the charity in 2019 and see what happens.. we have lots planned so keep your eyes peeled in January for some big annoucements.
Yesterday I also got to meet another mini friend 'Harry' the mini shetland he was just adorable and was full of cuddles, he reminded me of Alfie back home. (ssshhh don't tell Alfie I was cuddling another mini shetland) There was also 'Ollie' the Donkey who looked very smart in his Brooke rug and christmas band.
The event really showed what you can achieve when you bring a group of people together who all have the same intrest in heart - raising vital funds and awanress for working horses, donkeys and mules. The day was really lovely and highlighted brooke's work perfectly.
Afterwards there was a VIP reception where I got to meet Her Royal Highness the duchess of cornwall and the other guests. I recieved a lovely award from Petra Chief Executive of Brooke as a thankyou for being an every horse remembered ambassador this year and raising awarness for the charity.
The award is currently sat in my office at home, I'm going to show Alfie tonight after work and then add it to my trophy cabinet, it's been a real highligh to 2018...
Jumping on the train last night from kings cross back to the Yorkshire Dales it was good to get home and see my furry friends...
